Today we made a very very simple tent for an old man. He’s happy about it. I’m not. He has no family, and for who knows how long, this tent will be his home because he has no money to rebuild the one destroyed during the earthquake. And yet he has only smiles for us. 😢 #Nepal

Namaste! Back in the city after a 10-days trekking workout of what I initially thought would be a casual stroll. But eventually this little green fella made it to Annapurna Base Camp. Would’ve loved to stay longer. Already miss being on the trek, though I do not miss the cold 😝. I’ll be back, soon, I promise.

Talked briefly with someone who had traveled Indonesia and struck me with this bit of comment:

E: I think the way Indonesians say “Thank You” is really beautiful.
Me: Huh? What do you mean?” (alias dalam hati: “He, maksud loo?”).
E: When Indonesians say “Thank You”, it’s like “Here, receive love (Terima Kasih)”. And the other person reciprocates with, “Likewise (Sama-sama)”. I just think that, that’s such a beautiful way to say thank you.
Me: …..

So embarassed to say that I never thought of it that way and it took me this long & someone else to point out to me how lovely indeed the meaning of that word is in Indonesian. I now have a newfound appreciation for the word.

Terima Kasih for helping me realize it 🙂 – at Lake Side

Sometimes all I need is a little saltwater..

Haven’t done much of this the last year that I almost forgot how good it makes me feel.

Two of my best dives ever. Unbelievably dreamy crystal blue waters, visibility down to 25 meters and probably more, fishes everywhere you look, uncountable number of turtles, and bits of nice surprises here and there. It’s those kind of dives that you don’t want to end.

No wonder Balicasag is rated as one of Philippine’s favorite dive destinations. And just my luck that I don’t have my underwater camera. Ah well, I loved every second of it.

Guess I might see you again, Balicasag.
